What is the Undergraduate Council?
The primary goal of this council is to act as a liaison between the
undergrad students and the Computer Science Department as a whole.
This involves encouraging discussion related to the curriculum and
lab policy, developing a coherent stand on issues, and then voicing
those opinions to the appropriate authorities.
None of this can be achieved without your voice being heard. Any
thing you'd like to see happen in the department? Any concerns,
problems, solutions....let us know.

Selected Past Events
- The annual CSUG End of Year Picnic took place
in Gennesse Valley Park (GVP) and had over fifty members of the
UR Computer Science community attending, including Faculty,
Staff, Undergrads and Grad students. Check out the
pictures of everyone who came.
- The New York office of Google came to
recruit on campus last night for the second year in a row.
In a roughly hour long presentation they covered
everything from Google's history (from the time
when they built hard drive cases out of legos
to an overview of their current projects) to
what internships and jobs are available to
perspective students. The room was full
with roughly a hundred people
from numerous departments. Everyone
walked away with a Google keychain, pen,
and long-sleeve Shirt which sported the 'I'm Feeling
Lucky' button on the back. If you missed them look
for their return in early November 2006.
- The CSUGC
sponsored an evening with Luidy Bukys, UofR's own web security guru,
where he gave a talk on his experience here at UofR. Following his
talk, we had a screening of Wargames with pizza. Thanks to all who
attended.
- Our very own Charles Zhang planned a CS department pub night. Information regarding other similar upcoming events will be e-mailed to undergrad majors.
